Browsing this website
You can use this website without telling us who you are. To show you a page, our hosting provider receives the technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address and browser type. It is used to deliver the website and keep it secure, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website. We do not use it to identify you.
Our online membership system is run for us by a separate company. Links to messaging, social media and map services take you to services run by other companies, and their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Contacting us
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, the subject you choose and your message. Technical details sent with the form, such as your IP address, are used to deliver it and filter out spam. If you email, phone or message us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.
We use this information only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you or, where you are asking about joining, taking steps at your request before you become a member. We may also keep or disclose information where the law requires it, or where we need it to establish or defend a legal claim, which is in our legitimate interest.
We need your name, email address and message to reply to you. Your phone number is optional. You do not have to use the form: you can phone, email or visit us instead.
If you choose to tell us about an injury or health condition, we use it only to answer your enquiry, and only because you have chosen to share it with us. We are happy to discuss health matters in person instead.
This policy covers this website and enquiries made to us. It does not cover the records we hold when you become a member. You can ask us about those at any time using the details above.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics, and stores nothing non-essential on your device. That is why you will not see a cookie banner. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run this website and our email: website hosting, form delivery and spam filtering, and email. They receive only what they need to provide their service to us. They are based in the EEA and the United States.
If you message us through a messaging app or social media, the company that runs that service also handles your message under its own privacy policy.
Where your information is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as a European Commission adequacy decision or the Commission’s standard contractual clauses. A list of our current providers is available on request.
We never sell your information or share it for marketing. We may disclose it where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. If you go on to join, what you tell us when joining is handled as part of your membership. We may keep a record for longer if we need it to deal with a complaint or a legal claim.
Technical information received when you visit the website is kept only for as long as our hosting provider needs it to deliver the website and keep it secure.
How we protect it
- This website is served over an encrypted connection.
- Access to enquiries is limited to the people at Myfitt who need it to deal with them.
- There are no accounts on this website, so we never ask you for a password.
If a breach ever puts your information at risk, we will tell the Data Protection Commission and, where the law requires, you.
Your rights
Under data protection law, and subject to some conditions, you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have anything inaccurate corrected;
- have your information deleted;
- restrict how we use it;
- object to how we use it;
- receive the information you gave us in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email myfittgym@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will reply within one month. If your request is complex, the law allows us more time, and we will tell you within that month if we need it.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s data protection authority, at dataprotection.ie.
